J.K. Rowling finally tells about her Favorite Harry Potter character!

She caused a scandal when she killed him off at the end of Harry Potterand the Half-Blood Prince, but Albus Dumbledore is still the character JK Rowling would most like to have dinner with, the bestselling children's author has revealed.

As her publisher Bloomsbury launched a global search to find the world's favourite Harry Potter character, Rowling said that her own most-favoured creation is the lightning-scarred young Harry himself. "I believe I am unusual in this, Ron is generally more popular (I love him too, though)," said the author. "Now that I have finished writing the books, the character I would most like to meet for dinner is Dumbledore. We would have a lot to discuss, and I would love his advice; I think that everyone would like a Dumbledore in their lives."

The author has said in the past that Hermione Granger resembles her the most. "I have often said that Hermione is a bit like me when I was younger," she writes on her website. "I think I was seen by other people as a right little know-it-all, but I hope that it is clear that underneath Hermione's swottiness there is a lot of insecurity and a great fear of failure (as shown by her Boggart in Prisoner of Azkaban)."

From Severus Snape to the Dark Lord Voldemort himself, Bloomsbury has pulled together a list of 40 characters from the Harry Potter books and is asking fans to vote online for their favourite. If, among assorted Weasleys, Potters and Malfoys, elves and owls, a character is found to be missing, then readers can ask for it to be added to the list. The poll opens on 16 May and runs until 26 August, with the winning character to be unveiled on 30 August.

The Harry Potter books have sold more than 400m copies worldwide, said Bloomsbury, and have been translated into 69 languages.

Synopsis: “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” the seventh and final adventure in the Harry Potter film series, is a much-anticipated motion picture event to be told in two full-length parts.

Rupert Grint still not saying NO to another Potter movie

Rupert Grint has confessed that he wouldn't rule out a return to Harry Potter in the future.

The actor - who plays Ron Weasley in the big-screen adaptations of J.K. Rowling's wizarding series - revealed that he is unsure how the franchise could continue if another book were to be written, but would be curious to see how his character has progressed.

"I'm not sure. I wouldn't actually completely rule it out. I was always a big fan of the books and over the years I've become quite attached to Ron and we've meshed into the same person, really," he explained to Parade.

"But yeah, I don't know. I don't know how it would really work. I would like to play the middle-aged Ron, yeah. We'll have to wait and see."

Grint, who previously said that he would miss the Potter experience, went on to admit that he could not imagine his life without it.

"[Harry Potter] was such a massive part of my life. It really has been my life. I can't really remember a life before it," he added.

The franchise's final instalment Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 will hit cinemas worldwide on July 15.

As the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 fast approaches, Radcliffe told us what it was like shooting the final installments without Michael Gambon (AKA Dumbledore).

When we asked if he missed Gambon’s presence, Radcliffe responded: “Yes – those scenes with the two of us [in The Half-Blood Prince] were the most fun scenes.

“We shot them all in a period of about two months right at the beginning of the film. We were working together almost every day and it was great.

“But it was tough because there’s so much information to get across, and those scenes go on for the whole book. We had it all condensed into two scenes, pretty much.

“But The Half-Blood Prince wasn’t my favourite installment overall…”

Why is that? “I just hated my performance,” Radcliffe told us.

“The film was good, but it’s a huge amount of exposition. I think it’s the most beautiful of all the chapters… but [it’s] basically about setting up number seven.

"I just wasn't very happy with number six in terms of my own performance."
